Associate professor Sebastian c.r. Eibach

MD, PhD, FEBNS, FACS, FRACS

Associate Professor Eibach is an Australian, European and United States trained and triple qualified Neurosurgeon with expertise in Paediatric and Adult Neurosurgery, including Dysraphism, Congenital Malformations, Neurooncology and Neuroendoscopy.

Associate Professor Eibach graduated with Honours from the prestigious Medical School Charité – University of Berlin. He completed his Doctoral Thesis also with Honours at the affiliated Institute for Biochemistry.

After completing his Neurosurgery Training in Germany, he moved to San Francisco, California and continued subspecialty Training in Paediatric Neurosurgery. Under the mentorship of Professor Dachling Pang, one of the world leading pioneers in Paediatric Neurosurgery, A/Prof Eibach gained invaluable surgical, clinical and scientific experience, especially in the management of Spinal Cord Lipomas, but also other congenital malformations, embryology, craniofacial surgery and neurooncology.

As a result of his scientific contributions Associate Professor Eibach was awarded the distinguished Raimondi Award by the International Society of Paediatric Neurosurgery for the best publication of the year 2017 for his work on Junctional Neural Tube Defects.

Associate Professor Eibach qualified as a Specialist in Neurosurgery in Germany and was also appointed Fellow of the European Board of Neurological Surgery (FEBNS).

In Australia, A/Prof Eibach underwent further neurosurgical training at Royal North Shore Hospital, Prince of Wales Hospital, Sydney Children’s Hospital in Randwick and at Macquarie University Hospital before being awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in Neurosurgery.

Besides being a passionate clinician and surgeon, Associate Professor Eibach is dedicated to education and research and an internationally recognised teacher and invited speaker.

He is committed to incorporate evidence based medicine into his practice implementing Gold Standard Treatments not only from Australia but also from Europe and the USA.
