Dr Shay Menham

Orthopaedic Spine Surgeon
Dr Shay Menham has subspecialty expertise in complex spinal surgery. His practice is dedicated to adult spinal surgery, with particular interests in degenerative spinal conditions, spinal deformity and minimally invasive spinal surgery.
Dr Menham completed his medical degree at the University of Bologna in Italy, graduating with honours, then completed his specialist training in orthopaedic surgery at Sheba Medical Center, Tel Hashomer, Israel.
Moving to Australia, he completed advanced fellowship training in complex spinal surgery at Macquarie University Hospital and Prince of Wales Hospital in Sydney. He was then awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS).
Dr Menham’s clinical practice includes the management of complex degenerative spinal disorders, degenerative spinal deformity and spinal trauma. He has particular experience in minimally invasive spine surgery, deformity correction, fusion and non-fusion techniques, and anterior, oblique and lateral approaches to the spine.
Dr Menham’s clinical research interests include lumbar lordosis restoration, oblique access surgery, minimally invasive navigation and spinal deformity. He has published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at national and international meetings, including Eurospine, Global Spine Congress, SMISS, Spine Week, the North American Spine Society and the Neurosurgical Society of Australasia.
He is a member of professional organisations including the Spine Society of Australia and AO Spine.
